How did a former coal miner, who had only four cents in his pocket on his first date with his future wife, go on to become one of the highest paid movie stars in the world? Charlie spent his days studying acting at the Playhouse, Harriett worked in a handbag store for $27 dollars a week to help support them. Charlie was finally “discovered,” got parts in movies, and went on to become one of the best-known and highest paid actors in the world.

The Bronson’s high profile marriage produced two children, but disintegrated after Charlie fell under the spell – and into the bed – of the also-married English actress, Jill Ireland, while he was in Germany filming THE GREAT ESCAPE. After their divorce, Harriett sought a career other than just being “the ex Mrs. Famous” and ended up becoming a radio talk show host for nine years (on KABC, KIEV and KGIL). One reviewer dubbed her husky “purr” the “best female voice in radio.”

The Ghostriders Rodeo Team (currently the National Champions) will defend their title at the event in the highly competitive Rodeo drill division.

Ghostriders Cowgirls Inc will go for their 5th consecutive National title in the Quad division.

Ghostriders Young Guns have entered several Youth divisions at the National Championship. The Team is working hard at practice and plan to make Texas proud.

The World Championship along with 24 National divisions will be held at the Texas Rose Horse Park on Highway 110 just south of Interstate 20 located between Van and Lindale.

The City of Lindale and the Lindale Area Chamber of Commerce are the Title Sponsor and Host City for Super Ride X.

The Ghostriders Rodeo Drill Team Drill Master, Pam Bonner said the teams’ hard work, horsemanship, dedication to each other and the great western spirit of all involved always help the team rise to the top; and she is so very proud of all the riders and accomplishments.

Team Coach, Sara Bass has the team working on learning the drill and working on horsemanship.

The Ghostriders youth and adult teams have a 11 year history of being a top group of dedicated riders from the great state of Texas and continue to thrill the crowds at rodeos and competition. The Ghostriders were named the Official Rodeo Drill Team of Texas and State Symbol by the Texas Legislature which was signed into law by Governor Perry during the 2007 session. Gulf doctors honoured at the 2012 Middle East OTO Awards

Dubai, UAE: The 2012 Middle East OTO Awards got underway this morning with a prize giving ceremony held on the opening day of the 9th Middle East Update in Otolaryngology Conference & Exhibition (Head and Neck Surgery). The “Ingeborg and Erwin Hochmair” Award for Service to the Deaf was established in association with MED-EL and, bearing the names of its cofounders, the award honours programmes and physicians who devoted much of their life to the care of the hearing impaired in the Middle East. This award was presented to Dr. Abdulrahman Al Hagr from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The most significant award of the day was the Arab Health Personal and Professional Achievement Award established in association with Arab Health. The Award honours otolaryngologists who have exemplified through their personal life and professional careers deep commitment to the culture and values of the different communities in the Middle East along with determination to further scientific, medical and general development in the region. This year’s Award went to Prof. Akram Hajjar from Damascus, Syria.

The Otolaryngology Exhibition showcases the latest technologies and product launches from manufacturers and distributors from the ENT world. Toyota Dealership in Kochi Hosts Exciting Motorsport Activities to Popularise Etios Motor Racing

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) yesterday unveiled the concept cars of its Etios Motor Racing (EMR) Series along with exciting motorsport activities at Nippon Toyota in Kochi. This new venture is in line with its global philosophy of introducing ‘WAKU DOKI’, which in Japanese means ‘excitement, joy and fun.’

Premiered earlier this year for the first time at the Delhi Auto Expo 2012, the new sporty avatar of the Etios will re-emphasise Toyota’s efforts in reaching out to the younger target group through the Etios Brand. And, more importantly take motorsports closer to its customers and the youth of the country. Apart from the EMR concept cars on display, there was a host of motorsport based activities for all age groups visiting the dealership.

Racing simulators and remote controlled cars on race tracks were installed to enthrall motorsport enthusiasts. Children who accompanied their parents were given a crash course in basic automobile technology in a zone called the ‘Children’s Automotive Learning Area’, apart from other relevant contests and activities.  This year will be dedicated to popularising the EMR brand, apart from the dealership activations in 14 cities and 24 dealerships, there will be exhibition races, road shows and a whole lot of activities lined up before the Series next year.
